Generative AI Policies

RISET: Jurnal Aplikasi Ekonomi Akuntansi dan Bisnis implements a policy regarding the use of generative AI tools in the publication process, from the preparation of manuscripts for submission to the review process prior to publication, based on Elsevier guidelines (https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies-and-standards/generative-ai-policies-for-journals).

For Authors:
1. Authors are permitted to use generative AI tools for language translation, grammar checking, academic grammar improvement, writing structure refinement, and revising or explaining statistical analysis scripts.
2. Disclose the use of any generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in a specific Generative AI statement within the manuscript.
“During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for [SPECIFIC PURPOSE]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and revised the content as necessary and assume full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the published article.”
3. The use of AI should not be used as a substitute for critical thinking, expertise, and human evaluation.
4. AI tools/services should not be listed as an author or co-author, nor cite AI tools as an author in the submitted manuscript.
5. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content and results presented in the submitted manuscript. Additionally, it is imperative that they adhere to established ethical standards of publication.
6. The use of AI services in the creation of the entire manuscript, the creation of fictitious respondent data, unverified statements of research results, and falsification of citations are prohibited and will be automatically rejected if identified in the submitted manuscript.

For the Editorial Team:
1. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and should not upload the manuscripts or any part of them into any AI tools.
2. The use of AI may be used to assist with initial technical review, such as plagiarism detection and metadata review, but should not replace the editor's role in evaluating or making editorial decisions.
3. The use of AI may be used as a supporting tool for correcting grammatical errors in correspondence with authors and reviewers/peers.
4. Editors are permitted to use only the personal AI tools provided by the RISET journal to assist in the editorial process mentioned above.
5. If the editor identifies any fraudulent or abusive use of AI, the editor must take appropriate action, such as requesting clarification, issuing revisions, or rejecting the manuscript.

For Reviewers/Peer Reviewers:
1. Reviewers should not upload the manuscripts or any part of them into any AI tools, as submitted manuscripts are confidential.
2. Reviewers are fully responsible for the content of their review reports and are not permitted to use AI to evaluate the content of manuscripts for review.
3. The use of Generative AI is limited to supporting grammatical input in submitting review reports and is not intended to replace the role of reviewers/peers in evaluating manuscripts.
